From its temperate climate that offers life to some of the indigenious plantations in Africa to being a home of to the tallest mountain range in Africa- Mt. Rwenzori, to being the source of the world’s longest river – the River Nile and also has the continent’s largest lake (Lake Victoria).
The country has half of the world’s remaining gorillas population residing there. The country is also home to the Big Five and also has an abundance of other wildlife including chimpanzees, hippos and also rare species of birds.
Day 1: Nairobi to Kampala at 8pm
A brief stopover in Nakuru town for refreshments before hitting the road again for Kampala
Day 2:- Kampala
Arrive in Kampala late in the afternoon for a city excursion, personal shopping, dinner and overnight stay at Roots Retreat Hotel. Experience the Kampala night life (optional).
Day 3: Kampala - Entebbe
Early morning breakfast, depart for Entebbe.
On arrival, have a city tour at Entebbe where you will have a chance to visit several places of interests.
Later depart for Botanical Gardens, which host a variety of open country and woodland species.
The gardens are great place to spend a couple of hours relaxing. The tall trees are also a favorite day roost for Verreaux’s eagle owls.
Depart for Uganda Wildlife Education Centre where all the animals that Uganda offers brought together in one place.
Go for lunch, followed for a nice swim at Lake Victoria and hang out at the beach.
Later, go back to the hotel in Kampala for overnight stay
Day 3: Kampala – Jinja
Early morning breakfast and go visit different sites including, Kabaka Palace, Buganda Kingdom Parliament, Idi Amin Torture Chamber, Muammar Gaddafi Mosque- which is the second largest Mosque in Africa.
Depart for Jinja town which is the source of the River Nile. The town is also adventure sports hub of Uganda and offers world-class white water rafting on the Nile River as well as quad biking and mountain biking. Enjoy a boat ride at the source of the river Nile and later proceed to the camp.
Have dinner and overnight stay at the source of Nile at Explorer River camp or similar Hotel.
Day 5: Jinja – Nairobi
Early breakfast, then break camp and depart for Nairobi.
Have lunch at Kisumu and leave for Nairobi arriving later in the evening
