A sure way to enjoy the beauty that Kenya has to offer and be back in time to get dinner ready.
It covers 52km sq. 3.1km and runs from the park entrance to the crater rim and continues on another 7.2km loop encircling the crater. The whole tour takes 4-5 hours allowing for necessary rest breaks. It has an altitude of 2780m above sea level.
The climb up to the top of the mountain offers a scenic view of the Great Rift Valley all the way to Lake Naivasha. With a unique feature of thick forest cover, the park is home to a variety of wildlife, notably zebras, buffalos, giraffes, elands and waterbucks. The park is also home to different species of birds.
Besides its major attraction being the wide view of the beautiful Great Rift Valley, the extinct volcano crater forest and the picturesque landscapes also offer more lure to this magnificent place.
Also not forgetting the view of Lake Naivasha with its pink color cover from the flamingo feeding on the organisms in the lake.
1. 7.00Am- Meet at Kencom bus stage
2. 7.30Am- Depart to Mt. Longonot with stops at Mai Mahiu for sight viewing of the Great Rift Valley escarpment
3. 9.30Am- Arrive at the park and clear with the park authority.
4. 10.00Am- Start the climb
5. 1.30Pm- Descent back
6. 2.30-4.30Pm- Have a rest
7. 4.45Pm- Drive back to Nairobi
