Some of the entertaining and great plays on show in 2017 include:

RUTHLESS AFFAIRS – Hilarious political comedy complicated by romantic flings

The county governor recognises that the power balance inside county politics has radically changed with a catalogue of disasters befalling him.

He has become ever more dependent on others. He has to cope, in the new age of social media and free press, with divided support from MCAs, a failing economy, dwindling income and rising wage bill.

The county government is in crisis. It is necessary to save the county government from bankruptcy. Problems come thick and fast for this governor.

The worst is yet to come when a nosey blogger who has recently discovered his closely-guarded secret love affair threatens blackmail.

A close confidante invests him with a Machiavellian smoothness. A series of mistaken identities, however, ensue resulting in an unexpected twists and turns finally erupting into chaos.

Join the governor and an hilarious cast of characters, ranging from the scheming County Assembly Speaker, the morally confused chief of staff and the beautiful but ruthless Head of the governor’s Policy Unit as they lurch from crisis to crisis, trying to survive a disastrous weekend that teeters on the edge of catastrophe despite their best (and worst) intentions.

Satire in razor-sharp, full of funny situations, Ruthless Affairs is fast, funny and a rib-tickling sure-fire hit farce highly recommended.

CAN’T PAY WON’T PAY - Hilarious comedy by Dario Fo

Inflation has reached an all-time high. Frustration breaks the tension as one woman leads a revolt at the local supermarket, and looting guts the building.

The brave woman and her friend try desperately to hide their 'liberated' goods before their husbands and the police catch up with them. 'Can't Pay? Won't Pay!' is a wild farce that will ensure a good night out.

This hilarious and critically acclaimed political farce centres on direct action by housewives against inflationary supermarket prices and struggles with their trade unionist husbands who face unemployment and political crisis.

"It is rare to find a farce original enough to ... find jokes in rising prices and quips in unpaid bills and redundancy notices. This Dario Fo does with ease ..." - Daily Telegraph

TIT FOR TAT – Testing the limits, hilarious farce by FCA crew

Bitter and filled with anger, one woman is on a revenge mission and plots to turn the tables on the man who cheated on her with her best friend. But the unfolding events take her by surprise.

A series of mistaken identities ensue resulting in an unexpected twists and turns finally erupting into chaos. Tit for Tat is a fast moving and rip-roaring farce highly recommended.

A sharp and hilarious satire on police corruption, Mr. Fo's play was inspired by an unsavory incident that actually happened in Milan in 1969.

An anarchist train worker, charged in a terrorist bombing, mysteriously fell to his death from a window at the police headquarters where he was in custody.

The anarchist's defenestration may have been an accident or a suicide - or, just possibly, an officially sanctioned murder designed to cover up the Government's own malevolent role in the bombing.

The crazy roller-coaster-ride plot follows a charismatic master imposter who runs amok at a police station during an internal investigation into the suspicious suicide while in custody of an anarchist bomb-plot suspect.

Impersonating a number of authority figures, this self-professed madman fools a bungling group of inspectors, constables and their boss into rehashing and revising their testimony regarding the death, with hilarious and revealing results. The civil servants on view are all power-greedy corrupt state officers.

At first appearing to be a hapless interviewee under suspicion, his character transitions into a diabolical genius and master manipulator, energetically brimming with schemes and disguises.

By impersonating a variety of characters, including a high-level judicial authority and a bishop, he tricks the addled police into reopening the anarchist's case and revealing all the doctored transcripts, false alibis and undercover schemes that attended it.

Watching him operate - swinging wildly from plan to plan while fooling the cops into exposing their blatantly self-serving cover-up - is great fun.

It's a invigorating revenge fantasy for anyone who's ever had a frustrating run-in with the law, but also a rousing call for civic engagement and accountability.

BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE-A heart-rending romantic play by Leonard Gershe

The love story is more of a family drama-of a mother and her grown-up son- The boy was jilted by a girl and is now staying alone. He falls in love with a free spirited girl, who is an aspiring actress and doesn’t believe in marriage.

On the other hand the mother of the boy is against this relationship. She discourages the girl by emotional blackmailing her against the intimacy with her son. Then chaos unfold in this captivating play that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER – Hilarious comedy by Marc Camoletti & Robin Hawdon

Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his hot mistress in his charming apartment, whilst his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has arranged for a cook to prepare gourmet delights, and has invited his best friend, Robert, along too to provide the alibi.

It's foolproof; what could possibly go wrong? Well.... suppose Robert turns up not realizing quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend.

Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. Suppose everyone's alibi gets confused with everyone else's. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed.
