Joy Doreen Biira revealed what she went through in the hands of Uganda police when she was arrested. The harrowing incident has only moved her closer to God.
Last week, Joy Doreen Biira told Betty Kyallo on Friday Briefing that Ugandan police hit her and threatened to kill her during an interrogation.
The KTN anchor has now revealed the Kasese incident has only drawn her closer to God. She says last Sunday she opened her bible after a very LONG time as she went to church.
“As we left home for church this morning I picked my bible from the glove box where it has been sitting for sometime (yes sometime) and opened it for a verse in psalms maybe but the first verse I set my eyes on instead was,
‘fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand’.
so i look up at the top of the page to see what book of the bible it is and what chapter - and there it was Isaiah 41:10. I read it silently and shut the bible.”
Doreen further disclosed that the sermon that was taught in church directly related to what she underwent in Uganda;
“We got to church and Today's sermon in church was even clearer - Reverend Thuku of CITAM Karen read from Exodus 14:1-ff... verse 13 & 14 were his emphasis.
‘... do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today... The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.’
Reverend Thuku adds, ‘God creates a crisis not for you to be brought down but rather so He can manifest Himself’
I'm encouraged that whatever it is, God has already walked a mile in my(our) shoes.”
