No doubt, a successful relationship is purely anchored on trust, so much so that probably whether your partner loves you or not can take a coffee break.

However, trust is one things and keeping yourself trustworthy and credible in that respect is yet another thing.

A person trusts another when they feel that they can be vulnerable and everything will be alright. They need a sense of security. Can you be left alone and be found as you were left? Probably many guys would fail this test, or even ladies.

Trust in a relationship is based on how prepared the involved parties can readjust to what makes you trustworthy. Building trust requires making a commitment to trustworthy behavior.

You already have simple, yet powerful tools that can be a good start to enhancing our trust in your relationship.

Just mean, do what you say

One of the most important steps in building a foundation of trust is to do what you say you will do. You have to keep your promises. You promised to go for a date over the weekend, but you coiled around, wasting the time meant for the date.

Irrespective of how small something is, cancelling or simply failing to accomplish it creates an avenue of doubts in your relationship. You will automatically be doubted.

Your partner will start figuring out where and why you could be elsewhere instead of the date plan you hatched together to be doubted. Doubts create anxiety.

Be careful not to create cracks on your truthful face. Mending a fractured truth can be costly; in fact, it can take away your well build relationship.

However small the matter may seem to be, canceling or failing to follow through will create hairline fractures in your trustworthiness.

While many would argue that occasional failures aren’t big deals, you may end up failing in your relationship. Over time, your partner will see you less trustworthy.

Be open, apologise

Many people find accepting their mistakes in relationships humiliating. As you hold on this premise, you may lose what is more valuable than what you cheated to get.

Whenever an opportunity to be vague arises, consider whether it would be more accurate to provide more information or simple brush it off. May a times, one would opt to conceal what will end up eating them from within.

As withholding some issues from your partner creates unnecessary anxiety which is likely to eat up your relationship.

It's often a bright idea to volunteer information to show that you aren't hiding anything from your partner. Should this be the case, usually offer to give an apology. Seeking an apology is not an act of cowardice as may be perceived by most men.

Show integrity, communicate

Most guys, according to ladies turn arrogant when questioned about why they were seen with some other lady.

Actually, instead of engaging in abusive or aggressive behavior, it is important to adopt an assertive communication style. This means directly and respectfully expressing your needs while also addressing the needs and opinions of others.

Failing to communicate well spells doom for your relationship, however long you have been in it, it doesn’t matter.

Deceiving someone in most cases automatically breaks your trust with your partner. If you deceive someone or otherwise break trust, make a promise to change your behavior in the future and commit to doing so.

If you have your partner having lost trust in you, you must honor this promise consistently over time to regain trust.
