Why in the world would anyone deny something so obvious?
Raise your hands if you’ve thought about killing someone who won’t accept that they’re on the wrong. Men, they won’t take blame even when caught red handed.
Those are the kind of arguments that leave you wondering if you’re dealing with a sane person. Sort of like, "Why in the world would anyone deny something so obvious?"
"You’ve got a boyfriend? A brother? Met anyone of the male species? You can relate.
Fortunately, science has a theory for it.
This stubborn streak has been attributed to testosterone hormones. According to Elite Daily, there is a link between men with high testosterone levels and a proneness for being stubborn/thinking they're correct, when they're not.
"What we found was the testosterone group was quicker to make snap judgements on brain teasers where your initial guess is usually wrong," explained Colin Camerer, a professor of behavioral economics at Caltech.
He worked on the study.
"The testosterone is either inhibiting the process of mentally checking your work or increasing the intuitive feeling that 'I'm definitely right."
The scientists gave one group extra testosterone and the other none. Then they posed math questions to both groups. ( Sic)
The guys with the extra testosterone scored 20% fewer answers correct after a speedy calculation to finish. Here’s a shocker, they took even longer to find the correct answer after being told.
So the next time you’re fantasizing his slow and painful death, remember, it’s not his fault he’s being so obtuse.
