More than 1000 Matatu owners today met in Nairobi to discuss ways of taming the unruly behaviour of some of its crew among many other things.

Maybe in an apparent effort to clean up their image before ‘Kidero strikes,’ the matatu owners hope to promote behavioral change among its crew members, ahead of the 3rd Nganya awards schedule for December 3rd 2016.

Matatu owners association (MOA) third national alliance council (NDC) meeting and exhibition, is also scheduled for next week (Monday - Wednesday) at Kenya International Conference Center (KICC).

Matatu owner’s association chairman, Simon Kimutai while speaking to journalists admitted that matatu indiscipline was indeed threatening to get out of hand.

“The indiscipline by our people has surpassed road carnage, the conference will focus on how to change this behaviour by matatu touts and drivers” Kimutai disclosed to Nairobi news.

Kimutai said that the conference will focus on ethics, integrity and safety on the roads.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to attend one of the sessions.

The conference hopes to bring all affiliate parties like the National Transport and Safety Authority, (NTSA) and automobile companies together and iron out their differences.

Matatu owners association also plans to engage the services of NTSA and National Youth Services (NYS) to retrain matatu drivers and touts so has to trigger good behavioral skills & etiquette while on the roads.
